An application has been lodged for signage for a new chocolatier in Douglas’ Strand Street.

The building listed in the application is 83 Stand Street, is currently occupied by Claire’s.

The application (23/01378/B) is for Leonidas to open a store in the street, it has outlets in countries across the world.

Despite the address on the application submitted by the company and details issued on the planning website showing the address as the Claire’s store, this is not the case. The actual address is inside the Strand Shopping Centre.

We are happy to correct this while the issue is dealt with by the applicant and DEFA.

If approved, the plans would see a new shop front for the unit.

Its application, submitted by Lauren Aneca-Human of Belgian Confectionery Boutique, the company said it is ‘interested in occupying vacant shop with chocolate retail business’.
