Short and not at all sweet.

Here we go!

PM Liz – My conviction that the country needs to go for growth is rooted in my own experience, I grew up in the hood, I know what it’s like.

I’ve wanted families to have a better life, that’s why I’ve wanted to ‘go for growth’.

We’ve been held back with low growth since 2008

I want to ‘go for growth’ (really trying to make it stick)

That’s why 100,000 pensioners (sorry Tory members) picked me

People want stability, that’s why we helped with energy costs

Putin’s war caused further issues, also Covid pandemic cost a lot.

It is clear that parts of our mini budget went further and faster than markets expected

We need to act now

I have decided to keep the increase in corporation tax. It’ll raise £81bn.

We will do whatever is necessary to ensure debt is falling in medium term

We will control the size of the state

Public sector will become more efficient

Spending will grow less rapidly

I sacked Kwasi, terribly sad, he’s a good egg

Jeremy Hunt is new Chancellor, very experienced, well liked, shares my vision

He will deliver medium-term fiscal plan later this month and outline support for peoples ad business

We owe it to the next generation to improve the mess our gov has created over the last 12 years

As PM I will also act in national interest, mega lolz

It is difficult, but we will get through this storm.

Questions

Telegraph – Clearly a difficult day, why should you stay on?

Liz – I’m determined to see through what I’ve promised, higher growth, see us through the storm

Looks Around Confused

Sun – You wanted to cut 45p rate, and corporation tax, you and Kwasi designed the budget in secret, he has to go, why don’t you?

Liz – Copy and paste response about economic responsibility, committed to delivering

BBC – Excuse my bluntness, what credibility do you have?

Liz – What I have done is made sure we have economic stability, Hunt shares my desire for high growth, low tax economy

We have to deliver the mission in a different way, that’s what we’ll do

Robert Pestle? Ah Peston, ITV – Phil Hammond said you trashed Tory’s winning formula, will you apologise?

Liz – I am repeating what I said earlier about high growth economy

Country needs long term footing for economy growth

Cheers, Liz out.

Hack Pack in unison- Aren’t you going to say sorry?
