Cash, Chips and Gravy

We believe it is our duty as the people of Mann to have our national dish celebrated!

With the gov seeking islanders’ views on what new images or people should go on Manx money, we have finally found a campaign we can support.

The gov is running a consultation about what should be on the new bank notes when they are made to depict King Charles III (who still hasn’t bothered to pop over to say hi).

We have seen many good ideas which represent the ideals of island life, our history, our traditions, suggestions like Mona Douglas, Alan Shea and Raymond the Raven have indeed been inspired.

However, step forward Blake Kelly for what has been by far the best idea to date.

Blake thinks this is the opportunity to add onto the Manx £10 note our national dish, or as he calls it, our ‘national treasure’, Chips, Cheese and Gravy.

Having been forwarded this by a senior member of the Manx gov (we protect our sauces), we know it already has the backing of the corridors of power and now it has Gef’s backing too, so spread the word, tell your friends, ring your granny and tell them to sign Blake’s petition and fill in the gov’s consultation.
