Christian Appeals to Skelly
She has made her case for being allowed to ask questions
Douglas South MHK Claire Christian says the President of Tynwald will decide if she can quiz the Chief Minister over the Dr Ranson tribunal.
Yesterday we reported that Mrs Christian had said she was unable to ask questions relating to an appeal lodged during the tribunal.
Mrs Christian had sought to ask Alf Cannan ‘whether, and to what extent he was involved in the decision to lodge the appeal on October 6 relating to the tribunal’s order in the Employment and Equality tribunal of Dr Rosalind Ranson?’
However, she said that permission has been declined ‘due to sub judice’.
But, in another twist, she has revealed that the question has been referred to President Laurence Skelly and that Mrs Christian has outlined her ‘reasons why it is not subject to sub judice and should not be refused’.
She added: ‘I await his decision.’
My question has now been referred to the President of Tynwald along with my reasons why it is not subject to sub judice and should not be refused.
I await his decision.— Claire Christian (@Claire4MHK) April 12, 2023
