Committee: What’s Your View on Having Kids?
Submissions to a short questionnaire can be made online
A Tynwald committee looking at rebalancing the island’s population is holding a consultation that looks at why people choose to have children or not.
At the March 2022 sitting, Tynwald recognised the demographic challenges facing the island, and the long-term implications of population imbalance.
The committee, chaired by Dr Michelle Haywood MHK, is currently reviewing the island’s birth rates and is interested in hearing from parents, prospective parents, healthcare professionals, or any interested persons, about the experience of childbirth in the island, and wider support for raising families on-Island.
It is equally interested in hearing from those who have consciously decided not to have children, either in the Isle of Man, or at all.
Submissions to a short questionnaire can be made online here by Monday September 5.
