Four Unions Have Accepted Deal

With some teachers due to go out on strike next week, the gov has said that four of the five recognised unions have now accepted its pay deal.

Only the NASUWT has yet to accept a deal.

While members of the Association of School and College Leaders, the National Association of Head Teachers, the National Education Union and the University and College Union, it is NASUWT members who have refused the offer and are set to strike on Wednesday and Thursday next week.

Those strikes will largely close the island’s high schools, as the row over pay goes on.
