It’s Voting Day, People

Just in case you hadn’t noticed the sudden uptick in flyers, door knocks, and awkward nods from people in suits in some local consitituences recently– it’s local election day on the Isle of Man.

The Isle of Man Government is gently (but firmly) reminding you to get out and vote in today’s (Thursday, April 24) local authority elections.

If you live in Castletown, Douglas South, Patrick, Peel or Ramsey North, this one’s for you.

Polling stations are open until 8pm, and the good news is you can vote at any polling station within your constituency. Handy.

The process is pretty simple: when you show up, your name gets ticked off the electoral register, you get a ballot paper with your local candidates listed, and off you go to your little voting booth to make your mark.

Just remember to fold your paper in half so no one sees your choices, flash the official mark on the back to the Presiding Officer (like a secret voting handshake), and drop it in the ballot box.
