Well it took a while, but we finally found how to respond to the gov’s consultation over changes to parking at the airport.

The consultation, opening today on Good Friday, will close in just two week’s time, April 21.

When the DoI announced the changes to the airport parking, cutting free parking down to 15 minutes, ramping up charges and changing the long-term parking system for a ’12-month trial’.

In a press release earlier this week, the DoI said that there would be a two week statutory consultation on the changes starting today ‘when an advert containing details on how to respond will appear in the Isle of Man Courier’.

Well it took us a while to find it, but find it we did, on page 27, in amongst the DoI Highway Services Notices. All of this is perfectly above board, even if it does limit the potential for people to respond or even be aware of how to.

That notice reads: ‘A drop copy of the Order and plan is available upon request by email to admin.airport@gov.im. Any person wishing to make representations on or object to this proposal should do so by notice in writing to Commercial Officer, Isle of Man Airport, Ballasalla, IM9 2AS on or before Friday April 2 2023. Ref: PER69.’
