The meeting is at 7pm at the Commissioners’ Offices, 35 New Road, Laxey

Garff Commissioners will meet tonight to discuss Manx Utilities’ proposed solution to Laxey and Baldrine’s sewage problem.

The MUA is proposing a treatment site in Axnfell Plantation to bring an end of the pumping of raw sewage off the coast of Laxey.

Called after the announcement was made on Tuesday, Garff’s extraordinary meeting will see commissioners discuss what is known about the plans.

However, residents have raised several issues and frustrations with the plans on social media over the last two days, including the lack of a proposed route of pipe works, the location of pumping stations and what will be done at the Cairns and Glen Garwick sites which the MUA has previously said will be used for pumping stations.

The meeting is at 7pm at the Commissioners’ Offices, 35 New Road, Laxey.

While the meeting is public, anyone who wants to raise an opinion or question is asked to do so through by emailing admin@garff.im.
