Just 44% of capital projects have been completed on time and within budget in the last three financial years.

Mr Ashford said: ‘The proportion of completed capital projects on time & on budget for Financial Year 20/21 is 47% (30 projects). The proportion of completed capital projects on time & on budget for Financial Year 19/20 is 45% (28 projects) The proportion of completed capital projects on time & on budget for Financial Year 18/19 is 39% (24 projects).’
This works out at 82 projects or 44% being completed on time and within budget.
However, the minister added: ‘It should be noted that period in question spans two years affected by the pandemic, (2019-2021) where projects have been delayed due to access difficulties and process have been subject to significant inflation.’
