Matty Rennie and Jamie Devine continue their professional careers this weekend as the Manxmen look to continue their unbeaten records.

Manx ABC is also on the road this weekend, travelling to face a Merseyside Select team in Bootle, Liverpool.

Rennie (10-0-1) kicks off the weekend with a bout at Bolton’s One Sheet (no really) Stadium, stepping into the ring with James Moorcroft (19-3).

That bout is being streamed live in 1886 and the Front Porch and makes up part of the undercard for Nathan Gorman v Bohdan Myronets being shown live on Channel 5.

He posted on his Facebook page at the weigh-in on Thursday to say he was ready for showtime on Friday.

Devine (1-0) is in Blackpool this weekend as he heads to the Winter Gardens to fight Karl Sampson (6-27-1).

He said on his Facebook page: ‘Made up to be getting back out so soon. Little Christmas away day to end the year, going to be a good night.’

In Liverpool, Manx ABC face a Merseyside Select squad in a rematch from earlier this year when the visitors won 7-5 on their visit to the island.

This will see the final amateur bout from Jade ‘The Grenade’ Burden ahead of her switch to a pro career having been approved for a licence last month.

She said: ‘This has been something I’ve always wanted to do and what a time to do it, women’s boxing is thriving and I want to be a part of it competing against the very best and putting my little Isle of Man on map!

Coach Pete Roberts Jnr said this is the ‘biggest away trip so far’ for the amateur boxing club which has seen Devine and Rennie on their way to their pro careers.
