The Zurich Lighthouses Challenge and Pedal Party will be showing Manx Missile Mark Cavendish’s first two opportunities to make history this weekend.

With the first two stages of the Tour de France coinciding with the event on July 1 and 2, you can watch it live on a big screen in Castletown.

Loads of local businesses will be in Castletown for the weekend, including Cycle 360’s mobile café and a Manx Whippy Ice Cream Van, as well as food from Secret Pizza and Leonardo’s Restaurant.

A spokesperson said: ‘The Manx Missile needs just one more stage victory to break the record and we want to show Cavendish that the island is behind him.’

Lieutenant Governor Sir John Lorimer will be present on the morning of Sunday, July 2 to start the Zurich Lighthouses Challenge in Castletown square.
