Father and Son Going for Gold
They’ll be hoping to add to the Medals won at the Nationals earlier in the year.
World Gold Medalists Sensei Brian Clague and his son Sensei Connor Clague have set off for Liverpool this morning to compete in the World Martial Arts European Championships.
They’ll be hoping to add to the Medals won at the Nationals earlier in the year.
Competing in the Kumite section, Connor will be looking to add further European medals to the Gold Medals he won in the Kumite fighting and Weapons divisions at the World Championships last year and the previous year and Gold the the WMO Nationals that were held in February.
He will also be competing in the Points fighting divisions where he hopes to go one better than the Silver medal won at the same World Championships.
His Father Brian will hopefully be contesting the Kumite division, however, as he is carrying an injury, it will depend on the day but he hopes to go one better than the Silver medal in Kumite at the WMO Nationals and add to the Gold medals won for Weapons at last years World Championships.
It will be a long day for Sensei Brian Clague as he also an International Kata Judge and will be Judging throughout the day.
