FC Isle of Man hero and all round nice chap Furo Davies has launched a fundraiser to help pay the shipping for his BallaBoots campaign.

The campaign aims to help children in Nigeria play footy by providing them with kit.

Having collected the kit, it is then shipped to Nigeria and West Africa.

Furo said: ‘Having grown up and played football in Nigeria (Port Harcourt) I experienced the difficulties teenagers face on a day-to-day basis. Football brought about a sense of hope, escapism, and safety but all too often the socio-economic climate in Nigeria brings a halt to their footballing dreams. Football boots and kit can be hard to obtain and maintain, so here’s how BallaBoots helps out.

‘BallaBoots collect unwanted football boots and kits from the Manx community. We box them up and send them via freight to different regions of Nigeria and West Africa. As you can imagine the costs associated with transportation of what end up being heavy boxes are quite high and distribution within Nigeria also bring about costs.’

FC Isle of Man has said you can donate boots at this weekend’s home game.
