Player of the Month

Congrats to Douglas & District’s Daniel Stewart-Clague after he received a bottle of champers and his Player of the Round trophy for his defensive performance against Union Mills in the ECAP IOMFA Cup Preliminary Round at the start of January.

D&D pulled off a cup upset when the DPS ltd Division 2 team beat Canada Life Premier League side Union Mills 6-5 on penalties after the game ended 3-3. He was presented with the award by Stephen Corran, representing ECAP.

RNLI Quiz

On Sunday evening the Douglas RNLI guild hosted their annual quiz, raising over £1,300 in the process. The event saw 13 teams answering 150 questions across eight topics and two table rounds, with members of RNLI Douglas Crew auctioned off to teams to help with the nautical round.

Don’t Mention the Reboot

Legendary TV show Fawlty Towers is returning for a new series, with John Cleese writing the new show with his daughter Camilla.

The classic show ran for two series on BBC Two in 1975 and 1979, focusing on Torquay hotel owner Basil and his wife Sybil as they tried to keep their business and marriage going. The new series will, surprise, surprise, focus on Basil trying to navigate the modern world.
