Vagas

The Steam Packet Company (IOMSPC) is sponsoring Vagabonds RUFC Team for the 2022/2023 season. The sponsorship includes support for ladies, senior and junior teams. Steam Packet Company logos will feature on the Vagabonds Ladies team jerseys, and the backs of the senior team’s strip.

In return, the company will assist both teams as they travel to play opponents in the North West of England.

To commemorate the partnership, IOMSPC Managing Director Brian Thomson met with Vagabonds Club President, Jerry Carter, Chairman, John Cannan and the Ladies Team Captain, Lauren Ellison before their match on Saturday February 11The team won on Saturday.

We recognize the very important role the company plays in connecting communities and enabling sports people to achieve their goals. We are happy to be able to provide support to local teams and athletes like the Vagabonds. I’d like to thank the Club for a warm welcome and offer a big congratulations to the Ladies team for their win in the match on Saturday. A win for the community is a win for us,’ said Managing Director, Brian Thomson.

Vagabonds Chairman John Cannan added: ‘Thanks to the Steam Packet Company’s sponsorship, Vagas will be better able to fund our UK travel, provide greater travel and resources for our youth teams and we are excited about the opportunity to build a long term relationship with a great local company.’

Consultation

Manx Care is undertaking consultations with both members of the public and clinicians on island, to understand their opinions on how chronic pain is managed. Responses will help to inform the development of new services.

The public consultation, which is available here, asks those who are experiencing chronic pain/those around them about the services and support provided to them, as well as asking them to consider what further support they would benefit from.

Maria Bell, Pharmaceutical Adviser, said: ‘We really would like people’s input into this consultation – it’s so important that we have first-hand views from those affected, and we hope to develop services where we can based on the feedback we gather.’
