Post TT Races Red Flagged

After 31 years, the Southern 100 organisers have announced the end of the Post TT Road Races, citing a lack of available medics and marshals.

The announcement comes after discussions between Southern 100 Racing and ACU-Events Ltd.

Southern 100 Racing, as rights holders for the Southern 100 Road Races and the Pre-TT Classic Road Races will continue to promote both race meetings with ACU-Events being the organisers in consultation with Southern 100 Racing in the running of the races.

The organisers said: ‘With the new race schedule for the Isle of Man TT Races having been confirmed and the opening Monday being a full day of qualifying and the Senior TT moving to the Saturday, Southern 100 Racing have had to make changes to the race schedule for the Blackford’s Pre-TT Classic Road Races, whilst after thirty-one years, the Post TT Road Races will no longer be held, mainly through the lack of availability of medical personnel and marshals at the end of the TT Festival.

‘The Isle of Man Steam Packet Company Southern 100 Road Races will be held on its ‘traditional’ days and dates with a similar race programme to what has been popular with competitors and fans alike in recent years.’

Southern 100 Racing & ACU-Events confirm that the Blackford Financial Services Pre-TT Classic Road Races will take place on Friday Evening May 26 between 6pm and 9.35pm; Saturday May 27. Afternoon and Evening between 1pm and 4.30pm and 6pm and 9pm and Sunday 28th May from 1.00pm to no later than 6pm.

The Isle of Man Steam Packet Company Southern 100 Road Races will be held on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday July 10,11,12 and 13 2023.
