Second Day Frustration for Ingham
We defer to Horse and Hound to explain what happened
After a great first day that saw her leading the board, Yasmin Ingham has suffered a disappointing day in Kentucky to drop down a few places.
The world champion is competing at the Land Rover Kentucky Three-Day Event, one of the world’s premier equestrian 5* events showcasing the world’s highest level of equestrian eventing.
Yasmin posted on her Instagram to say: ‘Sadly it just wasn’t our day today. An early mistake out on course on my behalf cost us 20 penalties. Absolutely gutted to have let him down after his incredible performance in the dressage yesterday. But… if you aren’t winning you are learning. I’ve taken plenty of positives from today, and some very important lessons learnt ??’
We’re going to have to rely on our friends at Horse and Hound to explain what happened to Yasmin and Banzai Du Loir.
The equestrian magazine said: ‘Britain’s (ahem!) world champions fell foul of the influential Park Question at fence six, where Banzai Du Loir ran-out at the first of the triple brush arrowheads after the rail and ditch into the combination.
‘Further round Derek di Grazia’s course, at the Rolex Grand Slam Challenge, Yasmin had to take a long route after Banzai pitched forward jumping the hedge into the water.’
