History maker Jade ‘The Grenade’ Burden has been approved for a professional boxing licence.
She will still need to undergo a medical before the final go-ahead is given.
Having already made history by being the first woman to box for the island at the Commonwealth Games, Jade has garnered a reputation as one of the island’s most respected sports stars.
She also famously trained with Tyson Fury during his visit to the island last year ahead of the debut at the Games in Birmingham.
News of her passing the interview stage of the licence process was shared by coach Pete Roberts Jnr, who said once the medical is sorted, the team will be ‘good to go’.
Isle of Man Boxing and Fitness Academy shared Pete’s status and praised him and fellow coach Bob Howard, while saying ‘the journey starts now for Jade “The Grenade” Burden’.
