Yasmin’s on Top of The World
She claimed gold aboard Banzai du Loir.
Manxie Yasmin Ingham has claimed gold at the World Eventing Championships in Italy.
While Team GB finished fourth, Yasmin clinched individual gold aboard Banzai du Loir.
Speaking after her win, Yasmin said: ‘I’m still not believing it at the moment, I really didn’t think this would happen. My horse, Banzai, was just impeccable, perfect, could not fault him in the show jumping round and I’m just over the moon, I can’t explain how happy I am because there are just no words for it.
‘I’m shaking at the moment, even still, I’m just overjoyed, can’t believe it.’
The 25-year-old new world champion said going her first world championship was ‘nerve wracking’.
She added: ‘I just tired to to treat it like any other competition and just make sure that I did my normal plan and routine, my normal system and blocked everything else out and just focussed on the job and he (Banzai) just delivered, as I say he was just absolutely brilliant.’
