A double decker bus, formerly owned by Douglas Corporation, could be yours, if you have £25,000 to spare that is.

The AEC Regent double decker is listed for sale by Ron Greet Classic Bus and Lorry Private Collection.

Being sold in Devon, the rear loading bus is described as ‘9.6 engine, pre-select gearbox, very tidy, in excellent condition throughout, a good runner’.

Built in 1948, the bus was, according to classisbusses.co.uk, sold off in the 1970s and other than the bus still owned by Isle of Man Transport is potentially the only surviving example of the Douglas fleet.

Before Bus Vannin, Douglas Corporation ran its own buses with a distinctive yellow livery. It was taken over by the government in 1976.
