Flights Delayed By Airport Incident
A number of flights have been delayed by an incident at Ronaldsway Airport.
Fire and rescue vehicles were dispatched to investigate an apparent problem with an easyJet aircraft at just after 6pm on Friday.
The aircraft was due to depart the Isle of Man for Bristol at 4.30pm but it is still grounded at the airport.
Passengers have been told to await an update at around 7.30pm.
An eyewitness at the scene said one of the fire service vehicles had used what appeared to be a thermal imaging camera to investigate a ‘possible problem with one of the engines.’
However, this has not been confirmed by either easyJet or Ronaldsway.
Fire crews left the scene at around 6.30pm.
The incident has led to some disruption to other flights due to depart or arrive at the airport.
At present, easyJet’s planned 7pm flight to Manchester has been delayed by 20 minutes and will now depart at 7.30pm.
The 8.10pm flight to London Gatwick has also been delayed by 40 minutes and will now depart at 8.50pm.
