Crash Closes Mountain Road

The Isle of Man Constabulary has confirmed that part of the A18 Mountain Road has been closed following a crash at Keppel Gate this afternoon (Tuesday).

The stretch between the Bungalow and the Creg Ny Baa is currently shut while emergency services deal with the incident.

Police have warned that the closure is likely to remain in place until this evening’s Manx Grand Prix qualifying, when the full Mountain Course is due to shut at 6pm.

In a statement, the constabulary said: ‘The Mountain Road has been closed from the Bungalow to the Creg Ny Baa due to a road traffic collision at Keppel Gate.

‘Emergency services are at the scene and the road is likely to be closed until the scheduled race closure at 1800hrs.’
