Manannan Sailings Cancelled for ‘operational reasons’
The boat was met with difficulties in Liverpool today due to high winds in the Mersey
The much delayed Manannan sailing to Liverpool will not go ahead tonight, with the Steam Packet cancelling the sailing.
Passengers are advised to change their booking online.
This morning’s sailing to Liverpool saw passengers unable to disembark in Merseyside due to safety concerns caused by strong winds in the Mersey.
She eventually left Liverpool again at 2.45pm, arriving in Douglas just after 7.30pm.
However, while the Steam Packet had previously said the Manannan would sail again tonight, her round trip to Liverpool has been cancelled for what the company says are ‘operational reasons’.
Tomorrow morning’s sailing to Belfast has also been delayed and will leave the island at 8.45am instead of 7am, with the company again citing ‘operations reasons’.
