Manannan Sailings Rescheduled

The Steam Packet has had to tweak six of its upcoming Manannan sailings because of some rather inconvenient mud at the new Liverpool terminal.

Silting under the linkspan pontoon – that’s the bit connecting the boat to the shore – is causing problems when the tide’s low, making it tricky (and unsafe) to get cars and passengers on and off the boat.

So, sailings on April 27, 28 and 29 have been shifted to avoid the worst of the tide times.

The affected sailings include the Manannan’s departure from Douglas at 4.30pm on Sunday, April 27, with a return from Liverpool at 8.30pm; on Monday, April 28, the vessel will now depart Douglas at 5pm and return from Liverpool at 9.15pm; and on Tuesday, April 29, the crossing will leave Douglas at 1.30pm and return from Liverpool at 6pm.

The Steam Packet says it’s working with the DoI and Peel Ports on a proper dredging programme to stop this happening again.

They’ve apologised for the hassle and are contacting affected passengers directly – with full refunds or free changes offered if needed.
