Biker Fined for Various Offences

A man who was stopped by police while riding a rather vintage bike yesterday has been fined £650 and given five points on his licence.

The man, who the police haven’t named and we weren’t present in court so can’t name, was arrested while officers were conducting speed limit tests on Tuesday.

The Roads Policing Unit said: ‘The rider of the vehicle a male from England was stopped and it was found that he had no licence to be riding the vehicle, no insurance and it hadn’t been taxed for 30 years.

‘A homemade cardboard registration plate displaying the wrong reg was also located on the bike. He was arrested, spent a night in the cells and was put before court this morning. He was fined £650 and received five penalty points. He will also have to pay for the return of the bike and storage costs.

‘The message is simple, enjoy your visit, abide by the laws of the land and all is well. If you don’t then we will deal with you.’
