Dunlop Sets Unofficial Outright Record

Michael Dunlop has become the fastest man to ever lap the TT course, setting a new unofficial lap record.

It is unofficial because he did it in qualifying instead of during a race.

Dunlop’s flying lap at an astounding 135.531mph (16m 42.189s) eclispsed Peter Hickman’s current outright lap record of  135.425mph (16m 42.778s).

Behind him Dean Harrison has lapped at 134.216mph, while John McGuinness has clocked a 131.003mph on their Superbikes.

Peter Hickman has also thrown down a 133.195 lap. He then upped his pace from his first Superbike lap this afternoon, lapping at 134.910mph on his second turn round the course.

The Superbikes don’t come out to play tomorrow, they take centre stage with a six lap race on Superbike Sunday.
