Plans for a new hotel in the heart of Douglas was our most read story this week, as the owner of the Mannin Hotel seeks permission to convert the former Salvation Army Citadel on Lord Street to a 44 room hotel.
However with the countdown to TT23 almost at an end, unsurprisingly pre-TT news dominates our most read articles this week.
The most read of our TT pieces was the changes to road closures for this year’s universally popular new schedule for the races.
Also proving popular was news that the TT documentary No Room for Error, which has aired on ITV4 this week, will return for a new series next year, with filming going on during this year’s racing.
While Nathan Harrison’s withdrawal from TT23 after his crash at the NW200 rounded off the most read TT news.
This was also of course the week that Michael Portillo’s trip to the island was shown on BBC2, with the ex Tory MP’s Great Coastal Railway Journeys show proving a hit with viewers and readers.
Last but not least, many of you were interested to see the Manxman reach Singapore as the Steam Packet’s new flagship continues on her long journey home to Manx waters.
