Love at First Lap? TT Visitors and Locals Share What Makes the Isle of Man So Special
Every year, the Isle of Man TT draws thousands of adrenaline junkies eager to witness the world’s most daring road races. But for some, the island’s charm goes beyond the roar of the engines. This year, a growing number of visitors are contemplating a more permanent pit stop on Manx soil.
One group from Norwich, attending their first TT, was captivated not just by the races but also by the island’s warm hospitality. “The people are absolutely amazing – very polite, very friendly,” they shared. “We’d never considered moving here before, but now… we might.”
Lewis Casella, a teacher originally from Liverpool, made the move during the pandemic. Drawn by the island’s “really progressive” education system and stunning surroundings, he found the Isle of Man offered a quality of life that was hard to match.
Fashion buyer Molly Wade returned after nearly a decade in London, taking up a role with knitwear company Albion. “It felt like the right place, right time,” she said, embracing the island’s unique blend of career opportunities and natural beauty.
As the TT continues to showcase the island’s thrilling races, it’s clear that the Isle of Man’s allure extends far beyond the track.
