TT Weather: So Far, So Good?

Every TT there’s one thing Isle of Man residents fear more than closing time at Bushy’s TT Village…

The weather forecast.

And after last year’s washout, which saw sessions disrupted left, right and centre before the Senior TT was eventually cancelled, many fans have been nervously refreshing every weather app known to mankind.

But whisper it quietly… practice week is actually looking decent.

Ronaldsway forecaster Nathan Teece says high pressure should keep things mostly settled through qualifying week and into the start of race week.

He said: ‘High pressure will be centred close to or over the British Isles, maintaining relatively settled conditions throughout practice week and the start of race week.’

Translation: there’s a chance we might actually get some bikes on track without everyone staring anxiously at a cloud.

Mr Teece said it should be ‘mostly fine and dry’, although there is still a risk of showers, mist and fog popping up around the coast, because this is still the Isle of Man after all.

The second half of race week is looking a bit more dodgy though, with forecasts suggesting conditions could become more changeable later on.

As for the temperatures, don’t start packing for Magaluf just yet.

While parts of the UK could hit 25C to 30C over the bank holiday weekend, the Isle of Man will probably stay in the high teens, maybe scraping 20C if we’re lucky.

Mr Teece explained the Irish Sea is currently sitting at around 11C, which keeps the island cooler than parts of the UK mainland.
