‘You Choose’: Police Launch New TT Safety Campaign

Motorists are being told once again: don’t be daft this TT.

The Isle of Man Constabulary has launched its latest road safety campaign ahead of TT 2026 after 32 road traffic collisions were recorded during last year’s festival period.

The new slogan is: ‘How Will Your TT End? You Choose…’, which is basically police saying the choice is yours whether your TT finishes with a pint in the beer tent or a chat with the Roads Policing Unit, or a trip to Noble’s, or even worse.

During TT 2025 there were also 65 damage-only crashes, while officers handed out 226 speeding offences, made three dangerous driving arrests and recorded 22 positive roadside drug tests.

Police say males over 50 continue to be the group most commonly involved in serious injury collisions.

It’s also four TTs in a row now that there’s been no fatalities on open roads.

Superintendent Danny Rotchell said officers want everyone to enjoy the TT but ‘make sensible decisions’ and get home safely.

Meanwhile Sergeant Lee Wright warned that both marked and unmarked police vehicles will be out across the island during the fortnight targeting speeding, drink and drug driving, plus dangerous or careless driving.

Road Safety teams will also be spreading the message onboard ferries and at the TT Grandstand, while the Isle of Man Fire and Rescue Service has backed the campaign too.

In other words: enjoy the TT, but maybe don’t treat the Mountain Road like Mario Kart.
