New Weather Warning

Published

on

Everyone survived this morning, right?

Chandra really did blow – with road closures and trees down, buses redirected and anyone hoping to get off or on the island left struggling.

But the good news is it’s dying down, and that weather warning has now passed.

The slightly bad news? There’s a new weather alert from our friendly forecasters.

This time, it’s for coastal overtopping. Coming in at 4pm until 7.30pm tonight.

Issued at midday by David Britton, it reads: ‘With gale force south-easterly winds continuing for most of the day some further minor coastal overtopping of water and slight debris is expected around the hours of the next high tide late afternoon/early evening (~17:50).

‘Neap tides should help mitigate significant impacts but the areas most likely to be impacted are: Douglas promenade, Castletown promenade, parts of Shore Road (Rushen), and to a lesser extent Laxey and Ramsey promenades.’
