This 1965 animated special is deeply nostalgic to me. At only 25 minutes long it always seemed to be on TV around Christmas, and the content somehow actually holds up despite its boomer birthday. Charlie Brown is having an existential crisis, Lucy is running a pop-up psychiatric help booth, the kids just want to dance like maniacs in the school play, and it’s all set to a jazz soundtrack. It’s perfect. Curl up with a plate of cookies and eat your feelings through this quick melancholic classic.
