Flippin’ Heck! New Dessert Venture Set to Sweeten Up Peel

If you’ve ever wandered around Peel thinking, ‘This place could really do with more waffles,’ then first of all, same. And secondly, you’re in luck.

A brand new local take-away dessert venture called Flippin’ Heck Co is officially firing up this weekend, bringing loaded waffles, pancakes and milkshakes to the west, and it’s all happening out of Cranky’s Coffee on Michael Street.

After a friendly chat with the owner of Cranky’s, the Flippin’ Heck Co team has been given the green light to trial using the café space on Friday and Saturday evenings, and they say they’re buzzing (with a few nervous butterflies) to finally get going.

Flippin’ Heck Co describes itself as a no-nonsense dessert operation with one simple mission: serving ridiculously good comfort desserts for people who fancy something a bit indulgent.

Think fresh-made waffles and pancakes, proper flavours, no fuss, and the kind of treats that absolutely do not pretend to be healthy.

The duo behind the venture, Jakob and Evie, say they’ve long felt Peel was missing something for those with a sweet tooth, and with Evie’s passion for baking and desserts, the idea felt like a perfect fit.

After weeks (and months… and lots of taste-testing) they’re ready to see if Peel agrees.

They’ve also been keen to shout out Cranky’s Coffee for the support, calling it a ‘genuinely lovely local business’, and a reminder that Cranky’s is open 10am–3pm every day (except Sundays and Wednesdays) if you fancy a brew and a cake before the evening waffle action begins.

This weekend marks just the beginning for Flippin’ Heck Co, but if loaded desserts are your thing, it sounds like Peel’s evenings are about to get a whole lot sweeter.
