Terry’s Tato’s on Strand Street had an unexpected, and unforgettable, visitor today when world heavyweight boxing champion Tyson Fury walked through the door with his wife Paris and their family.

Staff say they were left stunned as the Gypsy King casually stepped inside the Douglas food spot, describing the moment as ‘surreal’ for the small local business.

In a visit that will no doubt go down in Terry’s Tato’s history, Fury didn’t just stop by for a quick bite, he ended up clearing them out of potatoes entirely.

The team joked that they never imagined they’d be writing ‘Tyson Fury is the reason we ran out of spuds today’ on their daily report.

Despite the surprise and the sudden stock shortage, the business said the family were ‘the loveliest, so down to earth,’ and that meeting them was a genuine highlight.
