New FatFace Store Opens in Douglas

There’s a new name on the block in Douglas – and it’s not a new coffee shop.

UK clothing brand FatFace has officially opened its first Isle of Man store, taking over the former Boredroom spot at 67 Strand Street.

The new shop has created eight jobs and brings the brand’s signature casual/lifestyle feel to the high street.

FatFace says it’s ‘thrilled’ to join the island’s shopping scene and has kept much of the existing shop fit to stay on the right side of the sustainability gods.

Karen Johnston from FatFace said the new store is a ‘prime’ location and a great way to connect with the island’s community.

The Boredroom – launched by Laurence Crookall – shut its doors in January, citing the rough ride for independents trying to stay afloat.

But Laurence said the support they’d had over the years was ‘extraordinary’.

FatFace has nearly 200 shops in the UK and over 20 in North America, so this little rock is their next stop. Welcome to Douglas.
