A Sea Dip for Arlo
The meet up is 10.30am for an 11am dip at Ramsey’s slipway, near the RNLI. If you can, wear something green!
Arlo’s Adventrue is holding a sea dip tomorrow morning, with the money going to provide support parents in the neonatal unit.
Arlo’s Adventure was created by Sarah and Damian Owen after the death of their baby son in 2016.
The meet up is 10.30am for an 11am dip at Ramsey’s slipway, near the RNLI. If you can, wear something green!
The money raised it to go towards a new recliner chair to go cot side so neonatal parents can feed/have skin to skin (kangaroo care) contact in comfort.
This allows mothers to relax and find a comfortable position while they are themselves recovering.
Under 16s must be accompanied by an adult. A quick form to be completed before entry (so leave plenty of time). The entry to the sea will be uneven and stony, please bring water shoes or footwear that can be easily removed.
Vicky Christian from Therapeutic & Holistic Treatments said: ‘Arlo’s Adventure charity are holding the event, with all money raised going towards new parent chairs for the neonatal unit at Nobles. There’ll also be a bake sale. We’d love all babies/children/adults that have been through the neonatal unit to come along, as well as friends, family and anyone else who’d love to join in.
‘We’d also like to create a mural on the entrance wall to the neonatal unit, using handprints of anyone, any age, that was in the unit as a baby. If they can come to the event, we’ll be able to do it there, if not, if they could send a green handprint on paper or thin card to the unit, we’ll be able to add it to the wall for them.’
