£1.75 a Pint? Cheers To 175 Years of Okell’s!

Manx pub-goers – this is not a drill!

Okell’s is slashing pint prices to just £1.75 for one day only to celebrate 175 years of brewing beer on the Isle of Man.

That’s right, this Friday (March 14), you can sip on a proper pint of Okell’s Bitter, IPA, MPA, or their new limited-edition Smoked Porter for less than the price of a A&J Butchers sausage roll!

A Toast to Dr William Okell

Back in 1850, Dr William Okell—a former surgeon-turned-ale wizard—set up shop on the Isle of Man, determined to brew beer that actually tasted good.

He was a big fan of quality control and helped introduce the Manx Brewers’ Act, which made sure local pints weren’t full of any old rubbish.

Despite dodging economic crises, UK competition, and two world wars, Okell’s has stood the test of time, serving up pints for generations of thirsty Manxies.

Now part of the Heron & Brearley empire, the brewery is still going strong, sticking to its historic brewing methods while also keeping up with modern tastes (hence, the fancy new Smoked Porter).

‘Enjoy a Pint!’

Okell’s Managing Director Ollie Neale is buzzing about the celebrations.

He said: ‘As the founder of Okell’s Brewery, Dr Okell was clear from the start that his beers should be high quality products.

‘Generations of master brewers have followed in his footsteps to ensure Manx drinkers – and those further afield – should enjoy Okell’s beers that use both the best ingredients and brewing techniques.

‘We wanted to do something special to mark the start of our year of celebration and we hope beer lovers at Okell’s Inns across the island will enjoy a pint at £1.75 in honour of our founder and brewing visionary.’

The £1.75 pint promo is just the start—Okell’s has more surprises up its sleeve for this landmark year.

But for now, get yourself down to an Okell’s Inn on Friday and make the most of the cheapest round you’ll buy in 2025!

While the deal is not limiting customers to just one pint, Okell’s is reminding folks to drink responsibly.
