The DoI says that it doesn’t expect tonight’s bad weather to be as bad as Sunday’s, but it will have additional staff on standby.

Storm Jocelyn is expect to bring gusts of up to 65mph this evening, well short of the over 80mph winds recorded on Sunday evening.

The DoI said: ‘The winds currently being predicted for tonight (Tuesday 23 January) are not as strong as experienced during Storm Isha on Sunday. Highway Services has reviewed its out of hours capacity this evening and has arranged additional crews to be on standby.’

Met Office: Later on this evening and into the early hours of tomorrow morning winds will increase further, becoming gale or severe gale force with gusts of 60-65mph in places for a time, before beginning to ease by the end of the night. Otherwise mainly dry with clear intervals and a minimum temperature of 7°C.’

There is a risk of some damage and disruption due to these severe gales.
