Temperatures are expected to drop overnight with it staying cold all weekend.
The Met Office has said: ‘With clear skies and light winds, temperatures will quickly fall below freezing from dusk this evening, giving a widespread frost with a risk of icy patches on any damp/wet untreated surfaces.
‘It will then turn cloudy later this evening as showers develop and continue to affect the island at times through until Sunday lunchtime, falling as rain/sleet for the majority of the island, but as sleet/snow over higher ground, mainly above around 700FT, giving some slight accumulations.’
