Inquest to Open into Pilot’s Death
The pilot was the only one aboard the privately-owned Cessna aircraft when it crashed on July 17
The inquest into the death the pilot who died when a light aircraft crashed into Bradda Head last month, is to be opened on Thursday.
The pilot was the only one aboard the privately-owned Cessna aircraft when it crashed into the cliff face at Bradda Head, Port Erin on Monday, July 17.
The crash sparked a major search and rescue mission involving all emergency services, as well as the Coastguard rescue helicopter from Caernarfon, the harbours division diving team, Coastguard, RNLI and Civil Defence volunteers, the Civil Aviation Authority and officers from the Air Accident Investigation Branch.
The inquest will open at 9.30am at Douglas Courthouse.
