Something Big and Manx is Coming to Spar. What is it?

They’ve been teasing us with talk of ‘local,’ ‘special,’ and ‘made right here on our island’, which is all the right words to get islanders sucked in, but what are Spar convenience shops planning?

Gef’s been doing some serious detective work (literally just scrolling the comments, seeing the online talk as well as thinking of ideas of our own, all while eating breakfast – your sausages are very good Willaston Butchers), and the guesses are rolling in:

Could it be a Manx meal deal? Queenies, wallaby pie and a can of Okell’s (it can be 0% for workers) for a fiver?

A new ‘milk refill’ station where you pour it straight from a beautiful Manx cow outside a Spar store?

Or maybe… a Manx kipper drive-thru, for when you’re running late, don’t fancy much social interaction, really fancy smelling awful, but don’t want KFC or Maccies?

Someone even guessed another Subway, which is bold, considering Ramsey’s already flying out footlongs. Oh, and it’s not very Manx…

But Spar clapped back, saying their profits get reinvested locally and they only use Manx contractors.

Oh, and they’ve even stuck a Manx flag on their shiny new FB logo, so they clearly mean business.

Whatever this ‘BIG MANX DEAL’ is, we’re braced. Because if it involves Manx cheese, spuds or meat… Gef’s all in.
