Barn Fire Reignites

Fire crews have tonight responded to a second fire in the Staarvey area this week.

Two major appliances from Peel station attended the fire.

The fire service said the fire, just after 6pm, was a ‘re-ignition following the barn fire two days ago’, adding that these hot spots ‘can occur following substantial fires and changing weather conditions’.

A statement added: ‘The fire was extinguished quickly using a jet by a team wearing Breathing apparatus.

‘Due to the strong winds and concerns for the structural integrity of the building and debris our colleagues in the Police have closed the road.’
