Rescue: Extreme Medics season 2 promises to bring viewers to the heart of the action once more, revealing even more of the challenges that expert clinical teams face working across the Scottish Isles.

Season two begins airing tonight (Monday) at 9pm on Channel 4. Its four episodes will air weekly.

Colin from Accounts

When two people are brought together by a car accident and an injured dog, they must learn to navigate life together. 

Make no mistake, it’s not an office sitcom, although you’d be forgiven for thinking so. Colin from Accounts is an Australian romantic comedy series that manages to keep itself from straying into the predictable – an unimaginable feat with the oversaturation the classic sitcom has experienced. 

Its writers and leading stars, Harriet Dyer and Patrick Brammall, are married in real life. I only learnt this fact about halfway through the show and it made me realise all the more how brilliant these two are. It’s a brilliant series and nothing about it feels stale, with a couple of tropes we’ve seen before but done in a fresh, exciting way.

Teachers

A comedy drama about the lives, loves and drinking sessions of a group of hapless teachers.

I discovered this one during the pandemic and I binged it all the way through its four seasons. It stars Andrew Lincoln (pre-The Walking Dead) but don’t get too attached to him… as you’ll find a lot of the cast drop out before the series’ end. Teachers still manages to find a way to be entertaining though as it moves onto a new generation of teachers for its fourth season.

Having seen the reviews, I’m told the teaching life is not too similar to that depicted in the show, with many wishing they had enough time for a pint with their friends and colleagues every night after work!

But Teachers is a good laugh and certainly a fun one to try. Find it on Netflix.

Secrets of the Elephants

Follow one of the most magnificent creatures in the world as they negotiate the environment in which they live.

Elephant migration is a truly remarkable thing to watch. The mammal will rely on environmental cues, such as rainfall and drought, to make their way towards a more suitable climate.

Actress Natalie Portman narrates, taking viewers on a beautiful journey as the elephants migrate. Each of the four episodes are based in different climates and locations: the savanna, desert, rainforest, and ending in Asia.
