Plans for Douglas Head Flats
The plans are for seven flats, including a penthouse, all with seas views.
An application has been made to replace a tatty building on Douglas Head (not that one) with a modern apartment block.
The application, submitted by John Barton, can be viewed here.
If approved, the plan would see Gloccamora demolished and replaced with seven ‘luxury apartments’.
As well as spectacular views over the island’s capital, the new homeowners can look forward to views of teenagers with R plates eating their McDonalds and KFC while being stalked by increasingly aggressive seagulls.
The first three floors would each have two, two-bed flats, with a penthouse three-bed flat on the top with with seaward facing terrace.
A basement level car park would include 14 spaces, as well as spaces for cyclists.
Also good news for the radio station, the new apartments would only be at ground floor level, so wouldn’t ruin their studio views.
