Gold for Gena’s Dance Academy in Paris
Step aside Emily in Paris, Gena’s Dance Academy has been claiming the spotlight in the City of Love and bringing home the croissants. And by croissants I mean medals.
The Manx dance company was competing in the IFDPA in Disneyland, Paris, a high-standard, all genre dance competition of magical proportions.
While there, Manx dancers of varying ages went head-to-head against dance schools from across the world. Seven dances were entered and a whopping FOUR placed in the top 3.
The group claimed Silver in the Primary Jazz class, GOLD in Primary Ballet, Bronze in Junior Jazz, and another gold in Junior Ballet.
On top of that, the girls had the privilege of being asked to lead the Disneyland Pre-Parade.
In a post on Gena’s Dance Academy’s Facebook page, Gena said the competition was ‘everything and more’ and that the girls had made them ‘very proud to have such polite children who represent the Isle of Man with such grace when performing off-Island.’
