Bar owner Greg Cowell said he thinks it is ‘great for all cue sports
Douglas Snooker Bar has confirmed it will welcome 11 time major winner and 2005 world champion Shaun Murphy on July 1.
A popular player on the circuit, Murphy has recorded over 600 centuries and was the runner up in the 2021 world final, losing out to Mark Selby.
Speaking to Gef about the event, bar owner Greg Cowell said he thinks it is ‘great for all cue sports, pool included,’ to welcome as big a name to the island.
He added: ‘To see a player play such a difficult sport at such a high level is always a pleasure. No matter what the sport. Hopefully some young aspiring talents can learn a few things and encourage them to put the hard effort in.’
Tickets are £35 standard entry, with VIP offers include the opportunity to play a frame against the one of the biggest names in the world of snooker and a meet and greet.
