Just 1/3 of Flights on Time
1,153 outbound passengers travelled through Ronaldsway
Monday saw just a third of the 18 schedule departures from Ronaldsway running to time.
The airport has said the primary cause of delays was late arrivals to the island.
Throughout Monday, there were 1,153 outbound passengers travelling through Ronaldsway and while there were no cancellations, 12 flights were delayed.
Of the cancellations, three of them were up to 30 minutes late, four were up to an hour late and five were between one and two hours late.
The top reasons for delays given were:
- Adjusted inbound arrival time to avoid ATC Closure
- Ramp congestion
- Low cloud base
The airport said: ‘Yesterday’s statistics show that the primary cause of delays was due to late inbound aircraft, with low cloud cover in the evening leading to disruptions to arrival times later on in the schedule.
‘Passengers affected by disruptions are encouraged to contact their airline for more information. We understand delays are inconvenient and are actively collaborating with airlines to minimise disruptions where possible. Thank you for your understanding.’
