Road to Shut for Emergency Tree Work
Poortown Road will be closed for most of today (Wednesday) to allow emergency tree felling to take place.
The Department of Infrastructure (DoI) says the route will be shut between Ballig Bridge and a point just east of the junction with Glen Mooar Road from 9.30am until 4pm.
Highway Services has identified several roadside trees in a dangerous condition, posing a risk to anyone travelling on Poortown Road. The closure is required so the trees can be safely removed.
Drivers are advised to avoid the area if possible and to allow extra time for their journey.
